Proposed Shipments Restrictions

Proposed shipment restrictions include the following options:

  • Enable proposed shipment booking restrictions. If selected, you can prevent ShipHawk users with the Shipping Clerk role from booking proposed shipments when the package weight and the total items weight differ by more than some specified weight or percentage. In this way you can manage when the Shipping Clerk will need to check with a user in the Shipping Manager role.

  • Prevent ShipHawk users with ‘Shipping Clerk’ role from entering package weights manually. By default, users with the Shipping Clerk role can enter package weights manually, but you can prevent them doing so with this setting so that only Shipping Managers (or Admins) can do so.

  • Prevent ShipHawk users with ‘Shipping Clerk’ role from Add/Generate new proposed shipments. By default, users can create (add or generate) a proposed shipment. However, you might want to prevent Shipping Clerks from doing that and only allow Shipping Managers (and Admins) to do so.

  • Prevent ShipHawk users with ‘Shipping Clerk’ role from deleting proposed shipments. By default, users can delete a proposed shipment by clicking the Delete button and then build it manually as needed. However, deleting a proposed shipment is a permanent action that can’t be undone, so you might to prevent Shipping Clerks from deleting proposed shipments, and only allow Shipping Managers (and Admins) to do so.

  • Prevent ShipHawk users from Booking proposed shipments without dimensions and weight. With this setting, you can require users to book proposed shipments that have specified dimensions and weight.

  • Clear carrier selection when package information is changed manually. If any package information is changed by users, you can also clear the previously selected carrier so that you can be sure to review and select the carrier you want to use based on the new package information.

  • Force Users with ‘Shipping Clerk’ role to enter an ITN for international shipments valued over the limit. This setting prevents Shipping Clerks from booking international proposed shipments with an empty ITN or EEI Exemption Code when the commodity is in excess of a specified value (default: 2500), so that only Shipping Managers (or Admins) can do so.

  • Prevent users with ’Shipping Clerk' role from booking a shipment that does not include all items designated for that shipment. While exceptions can occur, you might want to require that Shipping Managers (or Admins) take action on booking any shipments that do not include all the items designated for a given shipment.

  • Show processing time UI block. If selected, the time it takes to process an order is displayed along the bottom of the workflow screen. This setting is off by default, so managers can decide whether they want that data to be visible to workers. (The processing time and number processed is also available in shipment reports.)
