ShipHawk Guide

Warehouses (Settings Screen)

In ShipHawk TMS, you can view and modify the warehouses associated with your ShipHawk account from the Warehouses screen.

The Warehouses screen contains a list of all the warehouses your organization uses to store and ship goods. Warehouses do not have to be physical buildings however, they can represent virtual spaces or third parties. The warehouses listed on the Warehouses screen were likely set up at the time of implementation, and should be connected to a source system.  For instance, if you are using the SuiteApp with NetSuite, you will likely have connected your NetSuite Locations to ShipHawk Warehouses.

You can use the Warehouses to add a new warehouse, modify existing warehouses, and set advanced warehouse rating controls. This section will define every field in the Warehouses screen and go over every setting you can enable from the Warehouses page.

Warehouse Details Panel

You can view all the details associated with a warehouse by selecting the warehouse from the Warehouses list. The Warehouse Details panel will populate to the right of the screen. All the fields in this panel, along with how to edit warehouse details, will be described in this section.

Address Tab

The Address tab is where information about the warehouse location is stored. This information is communicated to the source system when shipping, so carriers are aware of the origin destination of the items in a shipment. The fields under the Address tab are defined in below:

Warehouse Code: The code used to link this warehouse to a source system. By adding a warehouse code, ShipHawk can pass on warehouse information to a third party system.

Name: The name used to identify the warehouse. The name is usually associated with the location of the warehouse, for instance: GA_Warehouse.

Company Name: The company name associated with the warehouse. This is the name that will appear on the origin/destination address for a proposed shipment.

Address: The address where the warehouse is located. This is the address that will appear on the origin/destination address for a proposed shipment.

Phone/Email: Primary contact information for the warehouse.

Location Type: Identifies whether the warehouse address is commercial or residential. Commercial location types entail pickup or delivery from a place of business. Residential location types entail pickup or delivery at a home, where truck access could be limited.

Alternate Return Address Tab

If the location has an alternate return address, that information will be located in this tab. Alternate return addresses allow organizations to provide a different address on a shipping label in place of the actual warehouse address listed in the Addresses tab. ShipHawk currently supports alternate return addresses for FedEx, UPS, and USPS/USPS Pitney Bowes, but not for any freight or LTL shipments.

Carriers Tab

You can indicate that a specific carrier account is used for a warehouse by inputting that carrier’s credentials in that warehouse’s record. Add carrier credentials to a specific warehouse using this tab.

Add New Warehouse Carrier: Click this button to input the credentials for the carrier account that belongs to each warehouse. A list of carrier types to select from will populate under this button. Select the carrier you want to add and fill in the required credentials from the Add your account pop-up window.

In some cases, you may want to add different carrier accounts (that originate from the same carrier) to the same warehouse. For instance, if you have three different UPS accounts shipping out of the same warehouse. If you are using three UPS carriers for one physical warehouse, you will need to add 3 warehouses to ShipHawk. The 3 warehouses can be virtual, and will have the same address as the physical warehouse that should already be added.  Each warehouse is simply used to indicate which carrier account to use for an order coming out of the same warehouse.

Advanced Tab

Use the Advanced tab to configure advanced warehouse rating controls. These settings are only applicable to customers who use multi-origin rating.  The fields under the Advanced tab are defined below:

Default warehouse for international shipments: When enabled, this warehouse will be used as the default warehouse for international shipments if the origin warehouse is not specified in the sales order.

Enable this warehouse for domestic multi-origin rating: When enabled, this warehouse is available for manual prioritization for domestic carrier rating.

NOTE If no manual priority is set, ShipHawk determines the best warehouse based on inventory availability and proximity to the destination address.

Enable this warehouse for international multi-origin rating: When enabled, this warehouse is available for manual prioritization for international carrier rating.

NOTE If no manual priority is set, ShipHawk will choose the default warehouse for rating international shipments

Warehouse Priority for Multi-origin rating

If you have enabled multi-origin rating for your warehouses, you must also set the priority order for these warehouses. You can set warehouse priorities from the Warehouse Priority for Multi-origin Rating screen.

To access this screen, click the Priority button in the Warehouses heading.

From the Warehouse Priority for Multi-origin Rating screen, you will see the same Enable this warehouse for domestic multi-origin rating and Enable this warehouse for international multi-origin rating settings that can be configured for each warehouse from the Advanced tab. The settings here can be applied to all the Warehouses that belong to your account.

Toggle the buttons on to enable domestic or international multi-origin rating as desired. Once enabled, the warehouse cards that were previously enabled for multi-origin rating become configurable.

Drag and drop the warehouse cards in the order of your rating priority. You can drag-and-drop disabled warehouses as well. If you later enable a warehouse, ShipHawk will default to the order specified on this screen.

Set Priority: Click the Set Priority button to save your preferences.
