Carriers (Settings Screen)

You can add new carrier accounts to connect to your ShipHawk TMS account through the Carriers screen. You must add your carrier credentials in ShipHawk for ShipHawk to produce carrier rates and proposed shipments.

Carriers List

The Carriers screen in ShipHawk lists the carriers you’ve added. For each carrier, the list includes Carrier (logo and name), Credential Name, Carrier Type, Warehouse (if assigned), Status (active, inactive, error), Errors (if any), and Action (to edit the carrier’s settings).

You can Search carriers, apply Filters, or from Display Options, group them carrier, carrier type, or warehouse.

Carrier types include the following:

  • Parcel: Lists all available small parcel carrier accounts you can connect to your ShipHawk account. Small parcel carriers are generally used to ship individual packages weighing less than 70lbs. Examples of small parcel carriers include UPS and USPS.

  • LTL: Lists all available LTL (Less-than-truckload) carrier accounts you can connect to your ShipHawk account. LTL carriers are freight carriers that do not require a full truckload to ship. Examples of LTL carriers include FedEx Freight and TForce Freight.

  • Home Delivery: Lists all available home delivery carrier services that you can connect to your ShipHawk account. Home delivery is a type of delivery service where items are crated/palletized and delivered to a customer’s home. An example of a home delivery carrier is XPO Last Mile Services.

The account details you must enter in ShipHawk for a carrier to be activated are different for each carrier. The information required for each carrier is specified in the Add your account pop-up screen that appears after you select a specific carrier to add. In some cases,  you may need to contact ShipHawk Support to integrate a less common carrier to your ShipHawk Account.  When an account has been successfully connected, the tile corresponding to the carrier on the Carriers page will display a green Active checkmark on the bottom left hand side of the card.

CARRIER Panel

Enter the Name, Carrier, and select from Assign to Warehouse if you would like to assign the carrier to a specific warehouse.

CREDENTIALS Panel

If prompted, enter your account credentials. Depending on the carrier you select, you may also be prompted for additional information related to your carrier account.

This is a test account: If the ShipHawk account you are connecting this carrier to is a production account, leave this setting unchecked.

Schedule

ShipHawk TMS now enables you to set different rating and shipping cut-off times by carrier and warehouse location.

In this way, you can set the right expectations during checkout and manage pickup times based on the specific carrier and warehouse.

To schedule the rating and shipping cutoff times for a carrier:

  1. Log in to the ShipHawk TMS.

  2. Choose > Carriers.

  3. On the Carriers screen, for a given carrier, in the Action column of the table, click Edit.

  4. Optionally, from Assign to Warehouse, select a warehouse to assign the scheduling to that warehouse.

  5. Now, under Schedule, you can select and specify the Rating Cutoff Time and Shipping Cutoff Time.

Example

Scenarios for Rating Cutoff Time and Shipping Cutoff Time:

  • If the actual rating time is before the Rating Cutoff Time and before Shipping Cutoff Time, the shipment date is the today.

  • If the actual rating time is before the Rating Cutoff Time but after the Shipping Cutoff Time, the shipment date is the next day.

  • If the actual rating time is after the Rating Cutoff Time but before the Shipping Cutoff Time, the shipment date is the next day.

  • If the actual rating time is after the Rating Cutoff Time and after the Shipping Cutoff Time, the shipment date is the next day.
