How to Populate Harmonized System (HS) Codes in ShipHawk
What Are Harmonized System (HS) Codes?
The Harmonized System (HS) Code is an international naming convention used for the classification of products. It allows participating countries to classify traded goods on a common basis for customs purposes. ShipHawk supports the use of 6 and 10 digit HS codes for customs information.
This article will explain how to populate HS Code information in ShipHawk.
Map HS Codes from NetSuite to ShipHawk
To map HS codes in ShipHawk, you must change your default product field mappings in ShipHawk. This allows you to pull information from a desired field in NetSuite.
To Map HS Codes from NetSuite to ShipHawk:
Login to your ShipHawk Account.
Click the Settings icon > Integrations.
The Integrations page is displayed.Select the NetSuite Integration tile.
The NetSuite Manage your Accounts pop-up window is displayed.
From this window, click the Product Mappings tab.In the Product Mappings section, select the section drop down labeled Other item fields.
Locate the last field in the Other item fields section. It should be titled Harmonized Code.
Click on the Harmonized Code drop-down. All the respective fields in your Item Record page in NetSuite will display.
The gray text on top of a field drop-down represents the ShipHawk target field. The black text in the drop-down represents the source field in NetSuite. For example, in the screenshot below Harmonized Code is the ShipHawk target field, and SKU Item: Harmonized code is the source field in NetSuite.
The Default Value field, if populated, will use the same HS code for all values if there is not a value available.
Use the Harmonized Code drop-down field to select the NetSuite field where HS codes are populated in the Item Record page.
It is Important to choose the correct field that holds the HS code information.
Once you have chosen the correct field to map, click Update in the bottom right corner to apply the changes.
When you update product mapping information, you need to start another import or wait until the Nightly Product Sync occurs to see the changes.
