End-of-Day Manifests How-To Article

The end-of-day manifest (also referred to as EOD, shipment manifest, SCAN form, or Order Summary ) is an optional document for carriers to conveniently know what they are picking up.  The manifest provides a list of shipments and allows the carrier to pick up packages in bulk without having to scan each package individually.  ShipHawk allows users to close shipments and generate an end-of-day manifest as needed based on date, warehouse, carrier, carrier accounts or even individual shipments.

Carriers have different requirements and technology

Carriers have different requirements for End-of-Day manifests.  For some carriers, ShipHawk will submit shipping data electronically and that is sufficient for the carrier’s needs; other carriers require both the electronic submission and a printed form that your warehouse team provides to the driver when picking up shipments. If you are unsure what your carrier’s requirements are, contact your carrier directly. 

Using End-of-Day Manifests

The following section provides detailed instructions for generating end-of-day manifests.

To generate a new End-of-Day manifest:

1. Log into your ShipHawk account.

2. Select Shipments > End-of-Day Manifests. 
   
   The End-of-Day Manifests screen is displayed.

3. Click the Generate End-of-day Manifest button.

   You will be redirected to the Generate End-of-day Manifest screen.

4. Select a date from the Ship Date field. This should be today’s date.
   
   

   
   Carriers require the Ship Date to equal today's date. Shipments processed yesterday CAN NOT be included in the manifest unless they were printed with today's Ship Date.

    

   If you need to add a shipment you processed yesterday that has yesterday's Ship Date on the label, you must cancel it, rebook and relabel the package.
   
   

5. Optional: You can select a specific warehouse from the Warehouse drop-down field. This is only available if there are multiple warehouses on account.
   
   

6. Select a carrier from the Carrier drop-down field.
   
   

7. Optional: You can select carrier credentials from the Account Name drop-down field. This is only available, and must be selected, if there are multiple credentials for the selected carrier.
   
   

8. Shipments will populate below if they are available to close based on the criteria specified (date, warehouse, carrier, carrier creds). You can click the  + button to see all shipments displayed below.

9. If specific shipments should not be included in the end of day manifest / closed, users can deselect individual shipments to exclude them from the end-of-day manifest.
   
   

10. Once you are finished, click the Generate End-of-day Manifest button.

11. The end-of-day manifest is generated, and can be printed, downloaded, or opened.
