How to Set Up Auto Print in ShipHawk

Auto Print is a feature that allows you to print documentation automatically upon booking a shipment. When enabled, Auto Print can be configured by each user from the Printing Settings screen in ShipHawk. With Auto Print settings, you can indicate which shipping documents, as well as the number of copies of those documents, are printed by default.

When you enable Auto Print for your account, you can significantly reduce the amount of time it takes to print all necessary documents associated with your shipments, resulting in faster order processing.

The table below represents the types of shipping documents you can configure with Auto Print:

Parcel Shipments

  • Shipping Labels

  • Carton Labels

  • Packing Slips

International Parcel or LTL Shipments

  • Commercial Invoices

  • USMCA/Generic Certificates of Origin

  • Shipper’s Letter of Instruction

Parcel Shipments with Hazmat Goods

  • OP950A Forms

All LTL Shipments

  • BOLs

  • Shipping Labels

  • Pallet Labels

NOTE: Printer settings are configured at the user level, not at the account level. If your account has Workstations enabled, Printer settings can also be configured for each Workstation.

Auto Print Set Up

The following section will provide you with instructions for how to configure Auto Print settings at the user level for your account.

Prerequisites

Before you can begin configuring Auto Print settings in ShipHawk, you must first ensure a printer is already installed and connected to your account. This can be any kind of printer, including thermal and laser printers. Ensure the printer was installed using PrintNode software, as Auto Print only applies to printers connected with PrintNode.

The printer that is connected should also correspond with the type of document you want auto-printed. For instance, if you would like to automatically print carton labels, ensure you have a thermal printer properly installed and connected to your instance of ShipHawk.

You must also ensure Auto Print has been enabled by your ShipHawk Account Manager to access your Auto Print settings.
