Shipper Workflow

As a shipper, you can arrange for an order to delivered by Full Truck Load (FTL), also called Truckload, right from the ShipHawk TMS user interface.

To begin, go to the Order Details page for the order:

1. Click the Email Carriers To Get Quotes button (located just below the Compare Carrier Rates button). The Carrier Messaging Inbox window is displayed:

2. Click Compose to create quote requests for this order and send them to one or more carriers. The window expands to help you with creating a message, showing some example text:

3. Once you’ve entered one or more carriers in Select Carrier, and entered the shipment details (including origin and destination), send the shipping rate quote request by clicking the Send button in the lower right corner.

4. A pop-up message will confirm the quote request has been sent to the carriers. Next, the Carrier Messaging Inbox refreshes, showing you’ve sent a quote request:
   
   

5. Each carrier you selected receives an email with the text you’ve just composed and sent to them. The email they receive includes a link to a ShipHawk Quote Portal for responding to your request. The carrier will enter a description, rate, and estimated delivery date, and send that to you.

6. In the Carrier Messaging Inbox, the Quote Status changes to Offered. Note the quote is in bold, indicating a new message.
   
   

7. Click on the message line (from “> … “) to view the offer:
   
   

8. Enter a response, and click Send:
   
   

9. The carrier receives your reply, both by email and in the ShipHawk Quote Portal.

10. Click Compare Carrier Rates, located in upper right corner of the Carrier Messaging Inbox. The Compare Carrier Rates window is displayed:
    
    

     

11. To move forward with the quote, click Select.

12. Now, back on the Order Details page for the order, when ready, click Save & Ship. By doing so, you accept the quote from the carrier, and an email is sent to the carrier notifying them of your acceptance. Note that you can use the Carrier Messaging Inbox to continue any messaging as needed with the carrier.
