Performance Optimizations
In this release, ShipHawk engineering has worked hard to optimize performance in a number of ways:
Improved Order History Loading – the user interface has been optimized to load Order History data faster.
Improved Rating and Booking Performance – the rating time has been reduced for repeat requests: the rating, calculation, consumer rate, and carrier selection services have all been optimized.
Contact your ShipHawk account manager to learn more about these performance enhancements.
Optionally Prevent Partially Fulfilled Shipments
In some workplace settings, you might want to require shippers to verify that all items are in a specific shipment, preventing partially fulfilled shipments. Administrators can now configure the shipping controls to prevent users from partially fulfilling shipments (go to Settings > Shipping Controls, on Shipping Control Settings).
Book Shipments in Packing Workflows
You can now book shipments and print shipping labels directly upon clicking the Finish button in a box / parcel packing workflow instead of having to book shipments from the Order Details page.
Pallets with Material Weight of Zero
You can now create pallet packing materials with a material weight of zero so that you do not have to add a line to the Bill of Lading (BOL) for the pallet.
Serial / Lot Number Creation for All Systems
The ShipHawk API has been enhanced to support serial / lot number creation during order creation. Previously, this was only supported for integration with NetSuite, and now it is supported for all ERP or warehouse management systems integrated with ShipHawk.
Multi-Origin Rating Without Inventory
For merchants working with multiple warehouses, ShipHawk now offers the ability to get rates for the closest warehouse to the destination even with no inventory information. This expands ShipHawk’s multi-origin capability beyond NetSuite and for systems with no inventory information.
NetSuite Integration Enhancements
This release includes the following NetSuite integration enhancements:
Support for long-form shipping notes
Support for up to three decimal places in items value calculations
Support for mapping standalone Lithium battery types from NetSuite item record
Amazon Vendor Central Enhancement
ShipHawk’s integration with Amazon Vendor Central now supports purchase orders outside of direct fulfillment.
Improved User Interface for Tracking NetSuite Interactions
ShipHawk has improved the modal window that tracks status and interactions between ShipHawk and NetSuite, based on write-backs from NetSuite to ShipHawk.
Rules Action Naming Improvements
The naming of some rule actions have been improved to better describe and clarify their behavior.
Rating Rule Actions:
“Use best rate” is now “Use the best ground rate, excluding Flat Rate service”
“Return consumer rates” is now “Return list rates from carrier”
Shipping Policy Actions:
“Use best rate” is now “Use the best ground rate, excluding Flat Rate service”
“Apply Service Days Filter” is now “Use Cheapest Service that meets Delivery promise (In Days)”
“Restrict Book Shipment” is now “Prevent User from Booking Shipment”
Note that even though the names have been updated for clarity, the rule actions have not otherwise changed and will continue to work the same as in the previous release.
Round Rates to $0.99
The previous release (see 2023.2.0 New Features ) introduced the Round-Up Rates To The Nearest Dollars feature. In that release, if you used a round up value such as $0.99, $0.99 was added each time, starting from $1.99. For example, if the rate is $7.77, the rule would round up the rate to $7.92. However, typically the desired result is to always end the rate with “.99”. Now, in this release, the rule action includes fields for specifying “Round up rates to the cents” where you specify “Direction” as Up (or Down), and then specify “Rate Ends With” a value such as 0.99. This approach assures that you can have the rate always end with .99 cents.
Broker Field on Commercial Invoice
To better automate document generation for merchants using brokers for international shipping, the Broker field has been added to ShipHawk-generated Commercial Invoices.
