ShipHawk Packed Orders API
ShipHawkʼs shipping platform offers an integrated carton and pallet packing algorithm, Smart PackingTM, that helps shippers increase packing efficiency and reduce overall shipping costs. Smart Packing also helps increase the accuracy of rates presented to consumers in online shopping carts when used with eCommerce connectors for in-cart rating.
However, some merchants prefer to use packing features embedded within other WMS or ERP platforms before sending the order information to ShipHawk. In such cases, the external system selects the packing containers, determines which items are packed into each container, and posts packages to ShipHawk for rate shopping, carrier and service selection, and booking.
The Packed Orders API supports connections from systems that pack orders before sending the order information to ShipHawk. The external system initiates the pick process, selects packing materials, and instructs the packer which items should be packed into which container(s). Packed orders are passed to ShipHawk to rate shop the order among carriers, apply shipping policies to select the best carrier and service, generate shipping labels and other documentation as needed, and book the shipment with the small parcel or LTL carrier.
This guide describes how to integrate to ShipHawk with the Packed Orders API.
