A package preset is a pre-filled packing material configuration that a user can apply to a proposed shipment. The presets allow you to set a shipment’s package type, length, width, height, value, carriers, carrier services, and more by just selecting a preset in the UI or scanning a preset barcode.

Package presets are different from packing materials because packing materials only concern the actual packing material (e.g. 12x12x12 box that weighs 0.5 pounds) while a preset can include carrier and service information. Presets are used purely to streamline assigning packing configurations to certain orders and can be assigned manually or automated through rating rules

You can save yourself time using preset package sizes, which will be available when choosing packing dimensions during order fulfillment.

Package presets do not require the user to have the Smart Packing function enabled.
