To begin using Smart Packing, you will need to configure Packing Materials for your account and confirm you have the loose/unpacked dimensions and weights for each of your products. See Packing Materials (Settings Screen).

Enable Smart Packing: Select this option to enable the Smart Packing feature. ShipHawk will display the suggested packing composition on the Proposed Shipment screen for each order.

Let ShipHawk create custom box sizes: Select this checkbox to allow ShipHawk to create box sizes that are not already defined in your Packing Materials. 

Try pallet(s)

When weight exceeds / When dimensional weight exceeds: The minimum weight of a shipment that can be palletized. The minimum dimensional weight of a shipment that can be palletized. Dimensional weight is a pricing method for freight that multiplies height by weight by width.

Treat items as spikes

That are longer than (in) / Where their aspect ratio (L:W) exceeds: Spike item aspect ratio allows you to change the minimum length to classify an item as a spike.

Treat Boxes as spike boxes 

When the box aspect ratio exceeds (in) / but not: The minimum box aspect spike ratio that qualifies as a spike box for Smart Packing. A spike is an item whose length-to-width ratio resembles a javelin or long tube.

Treat Boxes as regular boxes 

When the box aspect ratio does not exceed: The maximum box aspect ratio that qualifies as a regular box for Smart Packing.
