To enable the multi-origin rating process, you will need to associate a virtual location in Shopify with all items, in addition to the actual locations associated with them. (By virtual location, we mean not an actual physical location but an abstract location, defined in Shopify.) ShipHawk will use this virtual location to process multi-origin rating and shipping, while also using the actual locations of items.

The configuration process is as follows:

  1. In Shopify, create a virtual location (for more information on Shopify locations, see https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/fulfillment/setup/locations ) and assign it to all products (all products should also have one or more actual locations). Note the virtual location ID for this new location, as you will need to enter that as part of the ShipHawk configuration for your Shopify account.

  2. If you are tracking availability in Shopify (see https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/products/inventory/getting-started-with-inventory/set-up-inventory-tracking ), you need to set the maximum possible value for the new location for the product, for instance, 9999.

  3. In Shopify, note all the physical locations you are using. You will need to define warehouses in ShipHawk that correspond to these physical locations.

  4. In ShipHawk TMS, choose ⚙️ Settings > Warehouses, and create warehouses, one for each physical location in Shopify, giving the warehouse ID in ShipHawk the same ID as the physical location ID in Shopify.

  5. In ShipHawk TMS, to use multi-origin rating with Shopify, choose ⚙️ Settings > Integrations, and click on the Shopify panel.

  6. In the panel, select Enable Multi-Origin Rating, and enter the Virtual Location ID:
